Powering AI Processors using a 48V Factorized Power Architecture™
Using a 48V Factorized Power Architecture™ to overcome traditional multiphase limitations and drastically cut I²R thermal losses for high-demand loads
High power density
High efficiency
Easy thermal management
Scalable for more power
The Vicor 48V ecosystem of high performance power modules provides complete power delivery networks to convert high voltage to a 48V bus, power downstream loads, and eases the transition with modules to power legacy 12V loads.
Our DC-DC converters and regulators enable efficiencies and superior size/weight performance, while also providing the flexibility and scalability the modular approach to power is known for.
Isolated regulated
Input: 9 – 420V
Output: 3.3, 5, 12, 13.8, 15, 24, 28, 36, 48V
Power: Up to 1300W
Peak efficiency: 96%
As small as 24.8 x 22.8 x 7.21mm
Ideal point of load conversion occurs when the regulation VIN and VOUT are equal, and when high current delivery is as close as possible to the point-of-load. Vicor Factorized Power Architecture separates the dedicated functions of regulation and transformation into separate power modules – PRMs and VTMs – so that each can be optimized for the highest efficiency and density.
Non-isolated regulated
Input: 48V (36 – 75V)
Output: 48V (5 – 55V)
Power: Up to 600W
Peak efficiency: 98%
As small as 22.8 x 13.8 x 7.41mm
Vicor vertical power delivery improves performance and simplifies motherboard design. It enables processors to achieve previously unattainable performance levels necessary to fulfill the promise of high-performance applications such as Artificial Intelligence.
Vicor DCM and PRM regulators and NBM fixed-ratio converter – when used alone or in combinations – support more than 300 configurations providing system designers with the keys to deploying the right power to each point-of-load within a 48V zonal architecture.
Vicor power modules' inherently low noise contributes to fully achieving inspection requirements. Their low profile simplifies thermal management, which in turn simplifies the mechanical design of inspection systems, allowing for maximum throughput in the same floorspace.
